Default F3 aftermarket gauge cluster.

I haven’t seen any useful info on swapping to an aftermarket gauge cluster. So here goes. I bought a cheap digital cluster (SAMDO) on Amazon and it took me a long time to figure it out. But it is possible! Everything works like a charm. If anyone has any questions I’d love to help!

Now that's what I'm talking about. Looks like a rural area, so not too many neighbors to hear the exhaust. Looking good. Going from not running to fully functioning takes quite an effort. Nice job, keep it up.

BTW, what mess?

Hey thanks, man! And yes! Very rural. Asheville, NC. I’m definitely keeping the exhaust! I love not being able to hear in my right ear! Jk! It is very loud. The mess is just the wires hanging down for the headlight and turn signals. And I usually have my work area pretty clean. So I consider it somewhat messy. I’ve been working on little cosmetics like having the side mounted plate that I’ve 3D printed. I’ve enjoyed this project much more than I could’ve ever imagined. I might just have to get another bike. Anywho! I’m super stoked for the spring/ summer to come so that I can really show this piece of work off !

Thank you so much! My helmet has lots of cushion so it’s really not too bad! I really enjoy when it shoots flames I really think it was worth it. It’s also nice to know that people may not see me but they’ll hear me

can you post a link to the cluster on amazon? Also how difficult was the process? Did you have to do an custom work to get it to work?

Okay. bracket mount for speedo link:
Amazon Amazon

Speedo:
Amazon Amazon

Alright, Jon and everyone else reading. Yes there was custom work involved. I know it isn’t fun but it’s worth it. There are two clusters of wires that plug into the OEM cluster. The plugs look like this-

Here’s what you’ll need and what needs to be done.
1.Wiring diagram for bike
2. Wiring diagram for Universal cluster.
3. soldering iron
4. Redbull
5. multimeter
6. alligator clips (optional but it makes it way easier.
7. Patients and a couple of beers.

You need to take clip wires from these plugs and sort them out. (Leave some room for the wires in case you want to go back to OEM cluster. (2 inches is perfect)

Clip the aftermarket cluster wires at the plugs.

what you’re going to have to do is compare diagrams and connect the dots. I highly recommend doing one wire at a time and checking them off.

The easiest way to do this is to have the key in the on position and test what goes where

BIG HEADS UP. These bikes do NOT have a fuel gauge so I wired the oil temp to the fuel. A little weird I know but it works very well.

Another heads up. To pull power for the cluster I ran a wire from the ignition switch(red cable and ground) this allows a small amount of power to the cluster to keep time and miles. It also allows for the cluster to come on when the key is in the on position.

if you need any help just shoot me a message and we can exchange info. It’s a big task but if i can do it I’m sure you can too!

CHEERS AND GOODLUCK!

ALSO( mounted the brackets to the ignition bolts) it’s practically perfect
