Default Engine , head gasket and carbs

Hey guys
I recently bought a 96 cbr 600 f3 for handy money. Needless to say there was a few things wrong with it ( fork seals, over fueling , tyres). I gave it a service and changed the back tyre. There was still a LOT of smoke from it in high revs.
I got a mechanic to look at it and he said that the Carbs are wasted and the head gasket and exhaust gasket were f*@ked aswell and the engine was running on 2 cylinders because of the Carbs. It was over fuelling a lot which would explain the smoke. Mechanic said that it would be cheaper to buy a new bike than fix these problems.
just wondering what you think ?

Got same same exact bike. Don't get rid of if!!! F that mechanic cause he don't have the bikes best interest in mind. Well with mine AFTER replacing what a PROFESSIONAL told me was the problem didn't work. Rectifier is what he said and instead of test it I jus replaced it 100 gone. All well but I would yank carbs off and clean they are mechanical so 2 would jus go out. But clean real good I mean real good with carb cleaner and blast air through all the passage ways. Get them cleaned then the petcock that comes on f3 is gravity feed. Pump is only needed to start and at high rpms when gravity can't keep up with the fuel it needs. But a new petcock that's vacuum feed will help with over fueling they are 15 bucks online. DONT GIVE UP ON BIKE. If you do let me know I'll be glad to take it off your hands!! But I would start there!! Mine was running great for 2 seasons then alll the sudden did this and baffled me for a month now I'm putting back together as we speak was looking on here taking a break when I seen this!!!

GOOD LUCK and let me know progress also I have a manual for bike so if u have question and don't want to but one let me know and I'll send pics!!!

Shot I forgot change oil, plugs, test coils 1/4 are one one and 2/3 are on one so I'd say one of those are bad. Also change fuel filter. I didn't get stock one I jus got closest I could find at auto parts store. Jus don't get the metal elederbrock one that has reusable metal filleter in it I'm pretty sure that's what cause my problems to even start

Cheers man !!!
mechanic said that the Carbs are seized up and rusty ( she was parked up with a few years i think) he said he couldn't balance them because of this. I couldn't even tell what seized ones would look like , so I went pricing on eBay and saw a full set for between 200-250 range , what do you think ?

Agree with Handheld, strip down those carbs your self ,they have got to come off any , have a good clean and take it from there, part of the fun (if that's the right expression) of owning a bike is to sort it your self, cheaper too
