Some alarms link into the bike's power system. Cyclone 866f, for example, will trigger if power is interrupted or the bike is started without disabling the alarm in any way. And when it triggers, it disables the starter.

I put a Thor alarm system on my f3 that is directly linked into the ignition so without my remote the bike wont start and if i come out while the guy (or girl) is trying to ride away on it if they do happen to find a way to get it started, my remote can also trip the ignition killswitch and the powe will completely shut off and lock up. If the wire is unhooked or the bike is tampered with my 135db alarm will sound and i come running outside with a bat =) the way i have it set up also allows me to have automatic start on it from up to 50 ft away. I'll be putting up a video of my bike the next nice day we have, itll be on my post in "Sights n Sounds" =D

I can personally vouch for this method. My wifes F3 was stolen from a hotel in Tampa several years ago using this method. (We got it back 4 days later, but that's another story). If it's not chained to something, it's easy. Heck, 2 guys can pick up one end or the other and walk off with it like a wheelbarrow.

This was getting it back. We lucked out.

I know a guy that had his/hers harleys and both were bolted down INTO the cement floors in his garage with a thick chain, the day they got them chained it in and left them for the night. They woke up following morning, both were gone the chain cut...

the video basically shows for gsxr they remove the stock ignition in about 3 sec and install a modified that doesn't require a key and break bars by pushing against them using frame sliders. For the cbr he just fiddles with something in front next to the tank for about 3 sec and fires it up with nothing else... I assume he's jumping the ignition.

I have a scorpion 900 on my vmax, it's a great system with a battery backup, prox sensor, ignition kill, and a few other things... if you wanted to you can't even find the system it's tucked in so deep behind the frame...

And that just goes to show you how dumb police can be sometimes ... "hey lets put a vid out showing em how often bikes are stolen, ..... that should make em more aware just how really easy it is to steal one ... hell we'll even show em how it's done !!" ...
