Default Dyno Jet kit in CBR

I have chosen my winter project for my 97 CBR 600. I want to install a Dyno jet kit. I'm some what mechanically inclined, but definitely have never done anything at all with the carbs. At the Dyno website they have pretty straight foward instructions, but sometimes things sound easier then they really end up being. Am I just asking for trouble by tackling this project? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just don't rush it. Take it slow and do it right. Chances are you will have to take them back apart and do some adjustments before its all said and done. Tuning them can be a pain and time consuming. If you bike is stock I probably would not install one.

I'm kind of curious to see how it will turn out too. The reason I want to do it is because all this past riding season at certain rpm's (around 4K) the bike just felt sluggish. Kind of a hesitating feeling. Hard to describe. I do have a Yosh. slip on pipe and a K&N filter, but all the carb jets are stock. And this hesitating feeling started right after the K&N install. I realize for a slip on I don't have to rejet, but I think with the K&N air filter it can't hurt. I'm not looking for huge performance gains, just a smooth ride. I hope I'm not wrong, but I think my bike will benefit from it. I had the carbs cleaned this past summer and it helped, but certainly didn't take care of the problem entirely.

I haven't done a lot of mods to my bike, but last winter I did a lot of work to it. New tires, brake pads, rear disk, air filter,
chain sprockets...all that good stuff and I did it all myself. I never really worked on my bike much and I found it extremely rewarding. So I can't wait to tackle this carb issue....

I've heard the same thing about the K&N filter...so did you notice any difference at all (positive way)? Would you do it again? Just like you loving working on my bike. If you run into some tricky or not at descibed steps, would you take pics for us all who haven't done it? Thanks and have fun!!
