I have a 93 but the previous owner did a half ass97-98 conversion

the front fairings are all f3 so i bought a 95-98 pit-eck windscreen but it doesnt fit

is the fairing stay different between the two and how else can i tell that i really still have a f2 fairing stay?

idk, everything checks out with mine, idk what the fairing stay is, but it looks like you need to get a back fairings to fit that F3 tail light (everything else checks out as F3). It seems like everything would be interchangeable, even has the same back fairing locks. Only other thing is the exhaust heads protector fairing, but what is the fairing stay?

 

fairing stay or cowl stay is the "technical term" for fairing bracket or cowl bracket

well you can look at an OEM parts list for both of the bikes, like at cyclepartsnation.com or collegebikeshop.com

They do look significantly different, of course you'll notice the SKU is different as well as the honda part #

Take a look at the drawings, the 92 looks a lot more spacey (they're listed under upper cowl, F3 [1998] is "upper cowl" and F2 [1992] is "F2 upper cowl")

 

oops, wasnt sposed to look for 92 but 93, hmm, oh well, im sure you'll go check for yourself anyway
