Did 400 miles this past weekend
It was great! I went all over southern Maine and New Hampshire. Here's the thing though....my wrists are killing me![:@] Particularly the left one. What am I doing wrong?
I tried shifting my position around a lot. Sometimes I laid right on top of the tank, sometimes I just sat up close to it and was mostly upright, sometimes I took my left hand off and rested it on my leg.
Was it just the huge number of miles I put on pretty much non-stop that did me in?

You did 400 miles in one day? One ride? Or just through the weekend?
My max thus far is 250 miles in a ride. Never had wrist problems. Do you normally sit far back on the seat leaned over onto your arms? I generally sit as far forward as possible, which takes the weight off my arms.

I did 400 miles in 2 days. 230 one day, 177 the next...or maybe the second day was 197...in any case, it was a lot. Like I said, I moved around a lot.
I did a lot of back roads at slower speeds...so maybe my arms were just doing a lot of work. When I was on the highway I found that the air comming at me almost took all my body weight, which was very nice after a long day of riding.

I did pretty much the same. You are meant to hurt being in the same position for that many hours! Think about it. If you played any sport for that many hours you would hurt somewhere. I think you're good but I take a break after about an hour and a half of riding and stretch even though you don't want to. It helps me. Safe Riding!

I like organised (week end) rides for that reason, with a destination for the night picked out & rest stops (fuel) mapped out. Keeps everyone motivated. With just my mates & and I on a ride, our bums & enthusiasm give out a lot earlier & we usually find R&R in a nice pub, severly hit the **** & end up, flaked out in a crappy motel near the pub.(sometimes its the pub we end up staying in).
Wot I have noticed though, on the organised ride, when we finally reach the destination, by the time you check into the pre arranged motel, have a shower etc. something to eat & a beer, your so totally rooted from the days ride, you just fall into bed. Its still great though, innit!. Good on you
