Default Day from Hell!

Cliff notes version:
1. Try to give blood, end up with golf ball sized black and blue welt on my arm.
2. Try to leave Blood Bank, Dead battery.
3. Try push start, Starts once, shuts back down and won't restart.
4. Call friends, noone answers
5. 8 mile walk in 97 degree heat, no shade, no water.
6. Visit friend at work, nut case at bar tries to fight me because I bumped his seat.
7. Buy battery and replace, drive bike home. (Pray thats the problem and not the charger)
8. travel 8 miles back to car and drive car home.
9. get home and have 3 hours of college home work waiting.

Man that blows! I had a few days when I was in school where I had to run an errand which shouldn't take more than an hour and it ended up being an ALL day ordeal. Then the all day ordeal cuts into study time for that test the next morning (8 am of course) which is in your worst subject (econ or fin) and you end up going into the test with your guns half loaded. I feel your pain. Hope you were able to get the class work done without the loss of too much sleep. Good luck!

Default Voltage

What should I see for a voltage on the battery with the car running. Cars it's usually 13.2V. My bike is showing 12.25V at idle and 12.45 when I rev the engine up.

If you Hold the throttle at about 5k RPM, you should read 13.5-14.4v on the battery in the bike.

My 98 was doing the same thing, turned out to be the voltage regulator / rectifier, I went to the local cycle salvage and picked one up for 40 bucks. Not an issue since.
