Default Crash...stator cover smashed...

had a bad day, layed it down goin probably 25 or 30. no big deal except the stator cover is smashed and all my oil is on the road. i was wondering what typically happens to the bike in this sort of accident, hopefully the things that could possibly need replacing, and what to look for. i have pretty short experience in engines. any help to get it back on the road would really be appreciated, thanks.

Dang that sucks glad you're ok though. Things I'd look for:

1. Cracked casing (besides the obvious)/stripped bolts
2. Rashed up tires/bent rims
3. Ripped wires/hoses (especially the coolant hoses that run under the engine left side)
4. frame damage like swingarm & forks mostly
5. possibly bent left handlebar
6. Carbs might be flooded, so may need to do the spark plug routine..

Hopefully someone else will chime in on things I missed. I may have another cover I could sell ya.. I'll have a look tomorrow
