Coffee color leak.

Coffee color leak.
i have a leak coming from the carburetor drain hose(one of the two hoses that hangs down)that starts leaking after driving a few miles. it begins to leak allitle bit then gets worse if i drive it any longer. It leaks a coffee with cream color out of one of the hoses. It only leaks while it is being run.
any help would be greatly appreciated. sorry if this question is dumb as this is my first bike.
Thanks in advance.[/align]

RE: Coffee color leak.
I would open the radiator cap to get an easy visual on the coolant. If you have the nasty looking coolant there too, your whole cooling system is going to need some work. My guess is the coolant hasn't been changed in some time and has begun to coagulate like redz is saying. The fittings in the carbs are really tiny and can be blocked easily which might be causing the coolant blow past the o-rings. If this is the case, the carbs aren't the only area with a build up of "plaque".

You're going to have drain/replace the coolant but first, locate the leak and look for what is causing the leak (failed hose, loose hose clamp, etc). You'll probably just be able to follow the brown trail but just make sure you can find it first before you drain the coolant. I would also make sure that the coolant isn't making it's way into the oil. When was the last time the oil was changed? If it's has been some time (3+ months & 3,000+ miles), I would drain/replace the oil. An indicator of coolant in the oil is "bubble" like green blobs in the oil.
