cleaning carbs
So I'm cleaning my carbs as per this thread: https://cbrforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96888&highlight=carb+cleaning
Right now, I have the jet screws soaking in carb cleaner over night. After reading the thread, I still had a question. Is there any reason to do anything with the pilot/slow jet adjustment screw? I would rather not, because after looking at the manual, getting them adjusted looks to be a pain in the ****. I am having the same issues as this thread: https://cbrforum.com/forum/showthrea...highlight=idle
and it was the screw was mentioned.

When I pulled my carbs, all of my slow jet screws were still capped, so I figured, if I clean everything real good and replace all 4 insulator boots, it should get my mixture close to the original factory setting. And it did!
The guy I bought it from clean the carbs many times, but could not fix his idle.
I put a new pepcock screen (WASTED!), fuel filter (Because it was old and the pepcock screen was WASTED!), all 4 insulator boots (As they were hard, and a close exam of the inside showed signs of the inner rib seal detereating), and clean the carbs.
Idles great now and the old owner is pissed I fixxed it so quickly. After all, he stop riding it 8 years ago because of this problem. 8 FRICKIN' YEARS! ... I mean WTF?
