Question Choke position

Just wanted to know if its normal for bike not to start on choke on position? To my knowledge choke is on if lever is up. 96 yr md, is this correct ? It doesnt sound like its choked and it doesnt even attempt to start, only if i give a little throttle but thats bad right? But it will start, if im lucky, with lever down . Just wondern if i doing right. Thanks for input!!

On when down? This is how iv been starting it, i put lever down towards me and on the handle it reads CHOKE ----->>>>. Thats a little visual of what i see on handle. So.. I put my lever towards me ( down) all the way into thicker arrow. Cause on handle it looks like an arrow pointing down getting bigger at bottom. Is this correct , please let ne know if im doing this right.

This is correct. Start the bike with the lever down or twisted towards you. As it warms up, you can back the choke off by lifting up on the lever

Do you have a Repair or Service manual? If you don't or can't afford one or whatever. There are quite a few places you can download the manuals for free. I think I downloaded one off btjunkie, don't know if you do the bittorrent stuff or not. I Googled CBR600F3 manual and a ton of results came up. I know my Clymer has saved me a few headaches...
