Default choke on???

I have a 96 cbr 600 andit runs good for 20 min or so. Then lately it has been sounding and driving like it only has 3 of the cylinders and then for a little bit run with 4 then back to 3. Some one told me to check the choke so I did. The choke is off but when I try and engage the choke, I don't feel resistance until half way. Does this mean the choke is always half on? How can I make sure the choke is all the way off?

Also any ideas on why else the bike would be running on only 3 cylinders after it gets warm? but cut in and out from 3 to 4 sometimes?

my choke is about the same. There is some built in slack to the choke so that it will fully disengage while normal riding.

Try putting about 1/3 bottle of SeaFoam in the tank with some fresh high octane gas. Might just be a gummed up jet in one of the carbs. If that does start to fix the problem within the next 75 miles or so, then replace the spark plugs.

done that twice. Then i took out the carbs and sprayed them down and cleaned the low idle jets. I replaced the fuel pump (need to replace fuel filter) ran sea foam through it, two tanks. New spark plugs.

What else could be wrong? coil pack? does the bike have an ECM or some kind of computer? spark plug wires going bad? Im pretty much lost but don't want to spend the money to take it to a honda stealership

it has an ignition module. If the module were flaking out you'd loose 2 cylinders, since 1 coil does 2 cylinders. Plug wires are a possibility. Have you checked to make sure that there isnt any oil in the antifreeze, or antifreeze in the oil?

I just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago when it was doing this problem and there was no coolant in the oil. I haven't checked about oil in the coolant but would imagine there wouldn't be any there.

Could it be the ignition module? I can't tell if it is loosing one or two cylinders but I can tell it is dropping ATLEAST one cylinder. When it does it the bike hardly runs and has NO power. I have to keep it reved up to 4000 RPM just so it won't die on me. Its anoying plus I can't ride it like this.

What set up are you running? Have you jetted the carbs? What type of air filter and can are you running? Have you moved the pilot jet?

The only thing the bike has that I know of is K&N intake and a Yoshi slip on. I do not think it is jetted and I havenot messed with the piolet jet, Just the low idle jet.

so how would I check the individual chokes to see if they are sticking? Also what else could you guys think of that would make it do this. I am now clueless since everything I have tried has not worked.
