Default Cheaha/29/AHRMA

Five of us are leaving the Gulf Coast and heading for Cheaha tomorrow morning. After Cheaha we plan to stay at 29 and then head for Barber for the AHRMA races, and then back to 29. Should be a good weekend. I'm taking the F3, but the wife is chasing us in the F250 so may have to slow down a bit. Kind of late to ask, but does anyone know of some good knee dragging roads in that area?

Dude! Cheaha! I love that place, I go hiking up there on weekends. I haven't taken the bike up there just yet. Will you be coming through the Montgomery area or over in Auburn/Opelika?

Just got back! What a great weekend! We went through Montgomery catching 9 and ran it all the way to Lineville. Hit 49 then 281 going up the east side of the mountain. Weather was a little grey and overcast when we got there. Women were cold and tired so we didn't stay long. We were also running about an hour behind schedule for various reasons. Came down at a good pace and headed west trying to get to 29 before dark. Made it there at a little after 6. The grounds at 29 were covered with bikes. Mostly cruisers as they were planning some kind of charity ride on Saturday. Lots of other bikes there also. Dinner and a few beers in the lodge and we settled in for the night in some of the cabins.

Went over to Barber on Saturday for the races. They also had a swap meet underway with hundreds of old bikes and parts on the grounds. Too much to see and do there in one day, but unfortunately that is all we could spare. Left Barber, dropped the weak off at 29 and the rest of us took a brisk ride through the county. Made it back to 29 in time for dinner and Becks.

Left this morning about 10 and decided to run 25 south as far as we could. Ran at a good pace although roads were a little wet from the rain that had passed through last night. Barely missed getting caught by one of the locals (I need a radar detector!). Got home about 4.

First time I took the F3 on this long of a ride. It did great although if I take it again, I may to invest in a Corbin!

"I may to invest in a Corbin!"

I've heard nothing but good things about them. I love my second-look! It's too bad they are out of business now. I really wish I could have met you guys in MGM and rode with you to Barber. I would have shaken my weekend plans (Or lack thereof) for that in a heartbeat. If you do this again, let's hook up!

Will do! We are talking about going back again next summer or fall. BTW - I checked on a Corbin for the F3 but I couldn't find one listed for it.
