Changing tires sizes

Default Changing tires sizes

I'm going to get some Diablo Stradas for my 600 F3. I want to put a 170 on the back do I need to go up in the front or keep it 120?...

120/70 up front and I'd stick with the 160 in the rear, your not going to befenit anything with the 170. I tried it and hated it with the 170.

get the 170..dont listen to anyone else
a 160 is so small...not like the 170 is much bigger but it fills the bike out alot more and you will be happier with the bigger tire in the end

You can even squeeze a 180 in there if you want more looks then cornering.

no a 180 will not fit...it will rub on the right side of the swingarm
170 is max on a stock f3 swingarm

i have a 180 on mine, it doesnt rub at all... there was a post about this in july... basically all that was said was a 160 is the tire that is made for the bike, the bigger your tire, the smaller your contact patch with the ground will be. I personally like the 180 on mine, but everyone is different.

180 goes just fine. A lot of F3 track riders use a 180, myself included. I'm pretty sure fitting a 180 on the F3 rim is the reason converting to one is a common SV650 mod.

hmm..odd...a 180 rubs on my swingarm....very odd

hey let me make a correction.. i had a 180 on my bike when i 1st got it then i needed to replace the tires(because it was bald not because it rubbed) ...now i have a 170 .. sorry for the confusion .
