Default Changing Handle grips?

has anyone changed the handle grips on their bikes? I just bought some sweet new gel grips and I tried to take the old ones off but it seems like they are glued on. This means I need grip glue to put the new ones on huh? Darn!

anyone know an easy way to do this?

thanks!

i changed mine like a week ago. all i did was take a razor and slice the old one off. then cleaned the bar with contact cleaner(you can get that pretty much anywhere) then put some contact cleaner in the grip and pushed it on. some parts will be rough when pushing but make sure not to twist it.

Yeah they are glued on and ull need grip glue when u put em back on. To get off, take off the bar ends if you have em and then ull have to slide somethin small around the grove where grip meets the bar to kinda get the to start coming off. You can even spray window cleaner, i read on another post,( i actually used a lil wd40) to loosen up the grip n it slid right off for mine after a few twists. I actually saw a guy on youtube just slice the grips in half n then peel them off. Thatll prolly work too.

just cut the old ones off, but when putting new on heres a tip. put some glue on the bars and get a blow gun and blow air between the grips and bars while sliding on. it will balloon up the rubber grips and they will slide right on

haha thanks guys all real good tips!

Would gorilla glue be okay as grip glue? or would I have to buy a specific glue?

Do i really need glue? Or will they just stick on and stay put?
