Does anybody know if the center piece from a 96cbr will fit the 98cbr? I want to change my tail sections out but dont know if I need the center or not? Also if any body has a set of newer tail fairings that want to get rid of them please let me know? Thanks in advance.

 

No it will not. Their shape is different.

Now I just need the tail all 3 tail pieces. LOL

 

I modified the center piece from my 96 tail to fit my 98 tail. It looks ok but not perfect by any means. There is a gap between the seat and piece and a gap to the tail light. I just couldn't find a good enough deal on a used one and don't want to fork over 90 bucks for a new one.

Kind of hard to see in the picture. I had to cut off some of the mounting tabs and was still able to get it to fit very well and secure.

 

you will need the new bracket and new taillight as well.
