Is it the CCT?
I ride a 1995 CBR600F3, with app. 34K miles on it. When the bike idles, or rides at a low RPM, a constant clicking noise appears to be coming from the right valve region. it is not all the time. It sounds like it could be a tooth on the timing gears that may be catching the chain ever so often. it may also be a broken valve spring, although i am not having any misfires... can anyone please help? has anyone ever experienced something of this sort?
It is your cam chain tensioner or CCT for short. Problem on all F3's. Cheap part, and an easy fix. Just look for a manual CCT and this will fix your problem. I think there is a link to that at the top of this forum.
would it be in my service manual? or could you explain to me how to change it? how sure are u that that is what it is? sorry for all the questions, I just dont have alot of money to spend...
I would be 99% sure its the CCT
its not hard to change its on the right had side of the engine when you take the fairing off
if it's the oil pressure type be sure to get the gasket on the right way round
it's important
in the UK it costs about £30

I just purchased a CCT and I am going to change it later today... Is it really as easy as it looks in the manual? Has anyone had to change the slide?
Thanks,
