Default CBR help

My freind just bought a 96 f3.....streetfighter...no gauges no plastic.....the bike idles and runs out fine in 1st gear....but as soona as u hit 2nd or up...the bike bogs hard....and msses out. However if u just give a lttle bit throttle at a time it will finally catch up to itself....and start to pick up speed...really bog in 4 and 5th. The guy said that since there where no gauges thats why. He said the gauges control when the air solenoid valve opens whcih lets air.....so it fludding itself out now he said. IM not sure i have 05 thindercat....so any help would be great.

Default hmm....

Check the choke cable and everything that has to do with the choke. Not to sure if that is the problem but thats where I would start, start at the simplest things first. Then just take the carbs apart and clean them. Who knows what might be in them. Theres a thread on here how to do so with pics. Print them up and give them to your buddy. And in my opinion the speedo thing sounds like bull...sounds more like someone didn't know what the problem was and was selling it for that reason. Good luck
