Default CBR F3 won't start?

I'm a newbie so please be gentle! I just got my cbr yesterday, Sunday and the guy I bought from rode it around and I turned it on and rode it also. I put it up on the truck, cuz I was really far from home to drive it. I haven't been on a bike for more than 2 years so driving from ojai to the valley is kind of not a good idea for me. I got home and unloaded it, It didn't want to turn on but eventually it did. Went to my cousins friend turned it off, when I went to turn it on again, it wouldn't start. Everytime I would try to start it the headlight would go off. The engine would not make any noise at all. So I'm wondering if its the battery. What do you guys think it might be?

I took the battery to auto zone and had them charge it. I put on the bike and it started up! Sometimes it takes a little to start up, so I guess I'll just buy a new battery. thanks for the help

You NEED a battery charger. Go get one at K-Mart or Wal Mart. You can't pull your bike out of storage without one.

I'm having the same problems again, the bike won't start. The headlight turns off everytime I try to start it. This time though the bike wants to start but can't, should I buy a new battery? The batter it has now is pretty old and the guy I bought it from hadn't turned the bike on for over a year. Or can it be the spark plugs? Please help

YES. Sorry about that, I could have sworn that was discussed. If a battery sits for a year, toss it. Wal-Mart has them for $50-ish.
