Default Can you make replacement bowl gaskets?

I have a gasket on the bowl for carburetor number 4 that is pretty bad, the shop wants $40 for the set and won't sell it individually? is there something that would be gas safe that I could use, I know they make liquid gasket stuff, but I'm not sure if any is fuel safe.

I'd not recommend it. Some things you can be cheap on. Some things you don't wanna go cheap on.

The carbs can be pretty finicky. A $40 investment might save you future carb headaches.

no 'liquid' gasket maker gonna cut it in gas They use to sell sheets of the cork like stuff that you could cut your own gaskets out off, but its a pita. I'd spend the $40

well, it is 30-40 times 4 just for the bowl gaskets cause they will not split them up, so a little bigger of a deal than you think

No, it's not. It's $21 times 4, but here's what you get for each $21

Bowl Gasket
Bowl Drain Screw O ring
A/F Screw O ring
Main Jet Needle Holder O ring
Velocity Stack Gasket

Granted, maybe you don't need all of these, but how old did you say your carburetors are ? Yes, it's still a lot of money, but what are you going to do.

Playfulgod, could you go into the gasket making process with them in some detail? I would think since it's just the float bowl you'd cut the inside hole the exact size of the inside of the bowl and then just have overlap out the side since it's a fairing covered bike anyways.
