Default CAN ANYONE HELP ME!! PLEASE?

Ok so I got a good deal on a 1998 CBR 600 F3.... When i got the bike it ran good.... The other day i was out riding and when i got it up to about 4500 RPM it would start to bog so i let off then it started bogging at around 3000 RPM... Followed by a stall and then it would only start and idle for a short period (2-4 seconds) So I checked the fuel pump and sure enough it wasnt pumping any fuel.... So i replaced the fuel pump... I got the bike back together... Same thing... So i took the air filter off to get down to the carbs assuming it wasn't getting fuel... To check my theory I put a little gas straight into the carbs and put the choke on... IT fired right up! so then I checked the fuel lines from the fuel pump to the carb and the were clear. It's getting gas up to the carb. And there is gas in the float bowls when i open the drain screw...Now this is were I am not sure what to do... I am not sure if for some reason i might have a vacuum problem or if my carbs might just be plugged up ( a jet or something?) I haven't taken the carb off yet though... ( they make these bikes so compact, its gunna be a chore getting em off) I blew through the vacuum lines and they were clear, blowing through the right side opened the sliders in the carb and blowing through the left side (if your sitting on the bike) squirted fuel out of, what looks to be a jet or something on the top of the carb.... So i am kinda stumped... I have no idea other than taking the carbs apart... Its getting spark and air so i know it has something to do with fuel or those darn vacuum lines? Sometimes i can get the bike to idle with the choke on, and sometimes with the choke off but as soon as i try to give it any gas it cuts out... So what could it be ? carbs? It does have an inline fuel filter between the gas tank and fuel pump, so i thought it might not have crap in the carbs but, maybe the previous owner added it on at some point... He did tell me that the gas tank had some sludge in it, but being that it has a fuel filter i thought it might prevent it from getting to the carbs... So what should I do? take the carbs apart? or vacuum problem? getting good spark and everything, and gas is getting to the carb and the pump is pumping... Plugged Jet? I really need help, im stumped...

bump for both of us. this sounds somewhat similar to my problem. You could try the same thing I am gonna try just bypass the fuel pump. go straight to carbs from fuel tank. By the way the fuel pump on these bikes only pulses gas out. Its not a steady stream. Hope together we can figure this out. Mine is a 1998 f3 also

sounds like a problem that I was having. mine had sat for an year before I got a chance to fire it up but, the symptoms were the same. a fuel filter is good to hold back dirt, rust or other crap in the tank but, gas become varnish if it sits to long. remember, jets and floats will gum up if the gas is old, if the gas starts to evaporate, or if it has water in the gas, this to will cause issues. i had to remove the carbs and needed to clean them up before mine started to idel correctly. it is not that bad to remove the carbs, just get a long philips screwdriver (15 inch would be good).
good luck.

Before you take thecarbs off, make sure your throttle position sensor is intact.

Is the inside of your tank corroded? If yes, I'd check the fuel petcock first and fule filter.
There is an in-line fuel filter, but, your jets could still be mucked up from unstabilized fuel that was left in the bowls if your bike has been stored for winter-or an extended amout of time.

I'd pull the carbs andtake a good look at the jets if I had the same issue. Heck, since I'd be in there anyhow, I'd replacethe jettoo.
Good luck andpost up what you find.

if you think its trash in the carbs or fuel system, try to run some seafoam thru the tank and carbs and see if that helps clean em up

Duster, I would try the seafoam but i can only get the bike to idle for 2-4 seconds, TPS looks fine... PONGER, I am getting gas to the carbs and into the float bowls, when i unscrew the drain screw on the bottom of the carbs fuel drains out of them, so i know the fuel delivery to the carbs is good, so its got to be in the carbs, and like i said when i put a bit of gas staright down into the carbs it fires right up! and the gas i put into the carbs was the gas out of the tank? fired right up...wierd....Its got to be this carb ( ill get the carbs out tonight and let you guys know whats up).... ideas?

Ok, so tonight i went out for another round on trying to get this bike going.... HARLOWZ I dont have a leak in my tank but still wont run, someone mentioned doing a flow test, i am, not quite sure what he meant by that. HELLBULIT - Its not that i cant get it to idle, I cant get it to start... and when i give it gas it makes it worse or at least it seems like it wants to run less. Iwas thinking about it and the probability of all the carbs gumbing up at once is pretty unlikly so i dont think it is that... i have gas in the float bowls also.... its almost like i cant get the engine to pull gas through the carb... i can get the bike to run as i said, when i drip gas into the carbs. could a faulty air vent seloniod cause the bike not to run? im stumped i think the carbs do have vacuum though or at least the diagrhams are good cause if i blow through the air vent hose the things in the top of the carbs lift up. and my fuel pump is pulsating gas all the way to the carbs but from there i dont know... ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?
