Question Buying an F3 and need info..

I'm looking into buying a 1993 CBR600 F2 and they say it has a 1998 F3 motor in it. They say the bike needs coils, signals, and a brake light because it was a track bike. I'm not familiar with pricing but I was going to take it to a shop after the purchase and have them put new coils, signals and a brake light. The bike is for 1300 so I dont know if this is an okay bike to buy. I have 2400 to spend and didn't know the cost of all these parts I need, just wondering if someone had any info that could help me out. Thanks

1993 is an f2.

Coils will be about 100/pair off ebay, signals are fairly cheap on there but not sure if you have the relays for the signals or not. Brake light is about 20$ on ebay. Do the work yourself, you'll learn more about your bike and save a lot of money.

But for 2400, you can get a good running f3 street bike

Just wonder, does the bike star? I ask because you said it needs coils. If it does start, how does it sound? You can purchase turn signals and brake lights and do it yourself for a lot less than what the shop may cost you. Ebay.com should have everything you need for your bike at a fraction of the cost. If you have a pic of the bike, post it up so we can check it out.

Yeah ur right my bad I was stuck on that 98F3 engine they put in. They said the bike starts but it cuts out. I'd definately like to do all the work myself i'm just afraid I wont be able to put it back together, but its worth the try. I am looking for F3's too just been hard to find one in my area. The only pics they had were on his phone and I havent seem them yet, still trying to get those from him. I'll have to ask if it has the relays for the signals, he said the guy he bought it from rigged a back taillight on it.

Also looking into an F3 I found..They say 1996 CBR600 F3 Stunt bike(I dont want to do stunts) has new tires, sprokets, and chain. Needs battery and rear rotor and pad. It has D&D exhaust. Bike has no fairings but it runs good and has clear title for 1500. I just wasnt sure about not having any fairings not knowing where to find a full set for the bike.

I have to agree with the masses.........just be patient, keep looking. There is a bike out there with your name on it, youve got a good amount of money to get a "nice" starter bike.

BTW the F3 is a great learner bike IMO, great bike in general

Are you checking both Craigslist for your area/state and eBay?
