breakdown (misfire help needed)
hi all was out riding my bike the other day and was riding well when all of a sudden she started to seam as if she was gonna cut out so i thought ok flick fuel to reserve, even though i done this she cut out when i restarted her on full choke only even though warm she just misfired all the time and wouln't run with out choke so had to be recovered.
the recovery guy said bad spark or dirty fuel so i checked spark and all ok changed fuel and still the same but if i put fuel straight into carbs without air box on then for the 8 - 9 seconds she runs fine so im now well confused any ideas ppl PLEASE

I'm assuming you have not made any mods to you're pipes or air filter.
2 things come to mind. 1. Could be your fuel pump, that would go someway to explain why it felt like it was running out of fuel. 2. (And this happened to me & symptoms where the same) My regulator went south, as the reg failed, the bike then relied on battery power & as it drained power (for the plugs & fuel pump) it started to run like a lump, backfiring & I had to run the bugger with the choke on to make the 5 or so kays back to home.
The reg failure at 1st, can intermittent & also the battery can recover a little bit of charge when left for a while.
Pouring fuel down the carbs is a good way to start a motor, (not relying on the pump to deliver the fuel & it overcomes issues like to lean/rich/mix) but it can mask the real problem.

good place to start with these bike would be the fuel pump. switch contacts in the pump burn up. look in the stickies section for a post from idodirt.explains it all. start there and get back to us. or let us know if u have done any mods that may be related
