Default Body work kit- complete- China-experience?

Like I said- got the 96 F3 and it is sweet, but needs a good bit of body work. (Over at the BMW world we call that Tupperware- seems appropriate).

My question is... has anyone actually dealt with this Chinese company/representative? Complaints? I understand it takes some skill to install, but if you do get it on...how does it hold up- over time? I hear it is light weight- I suppose that is OK but is it flimsy?

Any thoughts about how having a cheap but attractive body work on your bike affects resale? Better because it looks good, or worse because- hey it is a cheap knock-off.

And lastly anybody like the Repsol look besides me?- or is it just a cliche.

im guessing you are refering to the hong kong ebay post... they look good yet i have heard mixed reviews about them... i was interested in them but was unsure... Its ABS plastic so they are very easy to break if you drop so frame sliders are a must

I sold my Hong Kong kit and repaired OEM fairings with epoxy and filler then repainted. Either way is a pain

I have worked with the Hong KONG kits for 2 different bikes and am not pleased at all. Almost none of the holes/plastics line up right. The fiberglass ones are overly flimsy and cheap looking, despite the intensity of the paint. I don't recommend them unless you're desperate.

My buddy bought a set for his 98f3. I'm not impressed with the fit, and he says it was a PITA to install. The paint looks good, but the lines aren't quite right....

I generaly have pretty horrible experiences with stuff from China (not just bike parts). The shipping takes 3-4 weeks, which makes no sense because I can get stuff shipped here from next door in India in a week, and the quality tends to be very poor. I've also gotten a few things like clothing and home entertainment accessories that are total counterfeit; they're branded with the name brand logos, but the stuff is always chinsey, and falls apart.
