Default BMC or K&N?

Hello again. I am hoping you can help me make up my mind. What is the major difference between the BMC and K&N air filters, besides price. Has anyone noticed a difference in performance? My bike had a K&N in it when I bought it, but it was filthy! So instead of cleaning it I'm just going to replace it. Any info helps Thanks!

Why wouldn't you just clean it?

Get a recharging kit and make it new again.

I know nothing of BMC...

Yeah clean it, save some $'s, K&N are pretty good, replace later if you think otherwise.
Just remember that because of their design you have to maintain them. It's filthy because the previous owner was slack and they did the job of keeping that crud out of your motor.

Yeah and if you put tooo much oil on the filter it can act like a clogged filter but BMC does the same with tooo much oil so go easy on the oil and let it completely dry before reinstalling on the bike!!

Thanks for the info. I'm most likely going to stick with K&N. I'll look into the recharge kit, but it is pretty dirty. Thanks for info about the oil, and ensuring its dry, I have never owned a K&N filter before. Thought about getting a couple for my cars, but never made the leap. My bike will be my first. Thanks again!
