Default Blowing the main fuse!! help!!!

My bike wont work in the slightest bit. I have it all taken apart, and Every time I put the 30 amp main fuse in and connect without the key on, it blows the fuse imediately. I am aware that there is a short, it does the same thing with the CDI box on and unpulged, both ways. It also does this with the fan unpluged. I was thinking that it might be the CDI box before it tested it without that on. I also had a hunch that it could be shorting in the fan its self but that didnt fix the problem. None of the litghts turn on even temprarily, Flug the fuse in and it pops. Any ideas?
its a 98' cbr 600 f3

When did all of this start? Make sure you did not reconnect the wrong wires together

There is a red wire and a red/white wire coming from a 4 pin connector that plugs in where the 30A fuse is. Disconnect this connector and then with a meter, check for a short between either of these pins and ground. If you're not familiar with using a meter, ask a friend. If one of them is shorted to to ground, then follow that wire and check for pinched wires or bad components. The red wire goes to the Ignition Switch, and the Red/White wire goes to the Regulator/Rectifier. The R/R's are known for having issues on these bikes. Let us know what you find.

Good luck.

Congratulations, that's good to hear that another one is back on the road. I'm curious how you found it was the R/R ? Were there any visual clues that it was bad, or did it test bad ?

I started by ripping all of the farings off and testing everything i could think of with a multimeter, then we did trial and error blowing up fuses one by one as we unplugged different things. then finaly we unplugged the R/R and the fuse didnt blow, so obvious..... thanks for the advise

Are you looking at the main fuse under the seat/tank?
