Default Bike keeps dying

Hey guys...i need a little help here. Ive got a 96 F3. I stopped the bike at a stop street and it just shut off. I went to just start it up again and it would'nt start. Ive got power from the battery cuz my gauges and the lights turn on but i guess not enough juice to start the motor. The bike did however turn on when i pop started.
Do you think it just needs a new battery and that will solve my problem or is it something more involved?
please help.

It depends on how you're riding it, if it's at idle or low rpms a lot then it's somewhat normal for the battery to get drained. If you are normally on the highways and taking longer trips the battery should be keeping up. It only gets drained at low rpms and while starting when everything is right. Hard to say right now without knowing more, there are a lot of possibilities at the moment with what you've told us.

get a volt meter and check the voltage of the battery.
my gauges would glow at 9v, but thats wayy to low to turn the starter.

14.5 or so should indicate its charging, and should remain that high when you rev.

12.5 is about what it takes to start the bike, though 13.0v is the best charge for the battery
