I hope some one can help me. Last night on my way back from Frisco'sI was cruising along and all of a sudden the bike just shut off as if it was out of gas.I stoped and checked my tank was almost full. Any pointers on what might be the problem?

 

Is there power to everything? If not I'd check the battery terminals to be sure they are secure

 

it cant be the battery, every thing works, bike turns over but it will not start? Lights, horn, etc all is fine.

 

I'd pull a plug and see if you still have spark. If not then itd be time to check some electrical spots...kickstandor neutral switch.

 

happened to me once too..its like the fuel pump had an aneurysm or somthing..i choked it and it fired right up, ran fine ever since

 

i have tried everything, i am thinking it may be the starter. does any one know how i can test it the starter?

 

On my wifes F3 she had a similar problem. Died wh1le riding and it was as if it ran out of fuel.
Ended up replacing the fuel pump. So far no problems but its only been a couple of weeks. A bad starter would not cause your bike to stop running if you are riding down the road.

 

I mint to say fuel pump, not the starter.

 

When I was troubleshooting her fuel pump, it passed with flying colors. The relay was fine and the flow rate was more than the spec. I believe hers was heating up and getting stuck.

 

So I by passed the fuel pump/filter and she fired right up!!! Is it safe to ride like this???
