The bar ends don't reduce vibrations, the weights inside of the clip-ons do. The thread you are tightening the bar ends to is the end of a weight in the clip-on itself. That is what reduces vibrations.
The bar ends are essentially a frame slider. You shouldn't have to cut anything on the bike to make them fit or to keep them from sticking the throttle. A washer would work fine.

MAN nice because i just ran into the same problem with my new bar ends and grips ,the whole time i wass thinking of it being the cables not adjusted right, but now i have some HIGH INSIGHT , TY ppl
Sorry Dusterdude Diddnt think of a drangrace bike. Well when I had my bar ends off the other day I didnt see any way that they would come out. You may have to get some sort of light weight bars or something.
