Default All Help Wanted 96 CBR 600

I recently bought a 96 cbr 600!
When I bought the bike the owner said the carbs my need a clean.but the bike was started & ruined.
two or three days later I tired to start the bike she wouldn't start!? She acted like she wanted to but didn't & made this Pop noise or backfired!?(any reason why)
Today I Removed the gas tank and noticed it was 3 holes 1. Was connected to the fuel tube 2. Had a hose with nothing connected to it (any reason why).? I looked online and they said it was just a breather(I'm guessing) doesn't go to anything?(is that true)
Does the Vuccum hose go to anything?
The Fuel pump always a nipple with a hose that's not connected(is that right)
I thinking that's the problem. I also brought sea foam & stared fluid ( any takes)
I was going to clean the carbs & see if that's my problem.
But The battery is pretty new
the choke is on high (but for some old reason when I lower it she act like she wants to start)

Thanks All For Reading & Replying
Appreciate Everything
Safe Riding

Hi , this is the layout for pipes on your tank, check that the breather pipe is clear, backfire is usually lean running, but would suggest running an auxilliary tank to the carbs bypassing the fuel filter and fuel pump, and see if it will start, would also change that inline fuel filter for a new one, while the tank is off give it a clean, Take the plugs out and see if they are wet or dry , that way you'll know if its starved or flooded, then we will go from there

The thin one is the breather and the fat one is the overflow

Is the battery fully charged? Make sure. Id also as a matter of course get a set of new plugs in there then start from there.
May not be the carbs but if its been stood for a while id suggest pulling them (after you get her running again. If she ran before she will again) and cleaning anyway as it will be a job that will need doing.

Not necessarily, could be a faulty fuel pump, knackered fuel tap. I’d go with Bills advice, link up a direct fuel feed with an auxiliary tank and see if it turns over.

Get the basics sorted then eliminate each possible problem. My understanding is that its backfiring suggesting there is fuel getting to the plugs...... get some new plugs in it and start from there. When mine has stood for a while she is a B!tch to start and normally floods and then the backfire fun starts. I normally take the end can off and leave it to dry out for a while.
