ok, got my carbs off and cleaned from last problem but now my battery wont hold a charge, i hooked it up to my multimeter, which i have no knoedge of but it reads like a 12.5ish with bike off, key in on position reads like a low 11 but when running at 5k rpms it pretty much stays between 11 and 12

 

It should be at or near 14.5V at 5000 rpm. Its most likely the r/r. Tons of info on here on switching it to a gsxr or r1 unit which are much less likley to fail and cheap on ebay. I put a 04 gsxr 1000 r/r on mine and have had no problems with the battery since.

 

i bought a new one a few weeks ago and put it on, only paid like 30 bucks and came from china, how do i check connections? like to see if that is whats wrong with it
