I'm new to the forum, but I am selling my 98 CBR600F3, only 1600 miles. Most of the mods are listed in my sig. It also has a new Virginia inspection sticker, title is clean & clear. It is available to come check out/ride. Oil was just changed, and the bike has never been dropped.

Asking price is $4000, but I am open to anything resonable, make an offer.

Where are you guys getting these bikes? In my area, $3500 $5000 will get you a 1, 2 or 3 year old bike with less than 5K miles on it. I can't believe I am seeing people paying $3500 for a 10 year old bike...

Not to mention the miles. 40K isn't a TON of miles, but it's up there. If it has a clear title (not salvage), I would offer that guy $1,800 - and if he said no, I'd offer $2K. If he didn't want that, I'd wish him happy selling and be on my way.

I bought my f3 a couple of months ago for $2500(guy wanted 3500 because of the motor but he lowered reserve TY ebay) @28k on the body but 2,000mi on the honda dealer rebuilt motor. clear title and only fell over once in storage.

2 weeks later a 96 900rr in my area went in the classifieds for ONLY $3,000 i was pissed. oh yeh and another member on here is selling a pretty nice f3 for $2500 which i would of bought too. Just wait because you might run into something cheaper and better.

i sold my 1998 f3 with yoshi pipe 12,000k for $3500. Very good condition, black and red, minor cosmetic scratches. so i think you can do better than a 40,000k bike for the same price. The guy was very anxious to buy so that was in my favor. Be patient, deals do drop in your hands. It's actually the best bike I've ever ridden.

All of these opinions are relative though, it's up to you in the long run.

It's much easier to sit back and say what you would or wouldn't pay for a bike when you just parked yours - just don't get taken man. If you lose some cash, chalk it up to learning and move on...

Of course, losing money is what we don't want to do

Sounds way too high. I bought my 97 in 11/2005 with 17K for $3200 and my 96 with 20K for $2200.

And I live in Houston, TX where you can pretty much ride every week of the year.
