Check under the tank, just forward and to the left of the battery box. You should
see a red connector. That's your starter relay. Saddled to the side of that, under
the connector is a 30amp fuse. That's your main. Check it and see if it blew.

You'll have to pull the side-covers>seat>tank to get to it easily. Don't forget to
switch the petcock to off, before you pull the fuel-line.

Hope this helps, Ern

Could it possibly be the alternator is faulty?

Is the battery good? Try charging it to full, again. Put a dc meter on the battery terminals
directly. It should show about 12.9 volts. Turn the key on while watching
the meter, it should, over about 20-30 secs, slowly drop to about 11.4 volts. If it
doesn't have 12.5+ volts with the bike off and/or goes below 11.4 volts with the
ignition on (with headlights), then pull the battery and have it tested.

If it's bad, that's your problem. If not, let me know and we'll go from there.

When you push start it, does the motor turn over or tire slide?

+1 for what mad said
If the battery is in fact bad then go ahead and hook a charger up to it and see if it will turn over
If it doesn't then its not only the battery
