Riding dirt bikes my hole life ik I should get a 250 but in my area they are over priced. And I have a small budget so that's why I'm looking older

CBR F3's are great starter bikes not to powerful but snappy and quick. My first bike was a '85 Yamaha FZ750 and I was fine and I never rode anything but 4 wheelers. So you should be A OK with a F3.

In TX they sell the 250's for 3000 to 3500 and a brand new one is 4000. I got my F3 for 1500 and is my first bike and love it.

You are 16 YO? What is the age minimum there? You need to be like 21 here is Cali.

BTW: nothing wrong with going for an older model. Make sure to find one close to STOCK.

If you ride dirt and can ride dirt well then you are def primed and ready for street. you have an advantage knowing what it feels like to have the bike move around on you.

OH and here is the CA info BTW hahahahahahaha

Getting Your Motorcycle License: Under 21

You may apply for your motorcycle license after:
  • You've held your motorcycle learner's permit for at least six months, if you're 16 or 17 years old.
Bring the motorcycle class completion certificate to the California DMV, and they'll issue you an interim license valid for 60 days, until you receive your new photo license in the mail. The fee is $28.

like they have said above, f3's are very friendly and great starter bikes. buy the bike. by the gear. go to a motorcycle safety training class. get your license and try your very very hardest not to be a 16 year old kid and hurt/kill yourself on it. buy it and be safe
