The headlight casing? No, you can leave it in the fairing if you want
But you you have to take off the rubber piece that covers it, then a couple screws to get a clip off, then the old bulb slides right out and you just do the steps backwards to put the new one in.

@ cbr_aholic, I didn't have to cut down the rubber piece at all.

There is no need to unscrew the clip. There is a tab to push and slide. That screw is a hinge for the clip. Its the same as the mazda and nissan car headlights. Some old hondas as well
