ive seen it done. you pretty much take the whole RR setup, wheel, forks, calipers, lower and upper triples, clip-ons and brakes and bolt-em to your steering head.

The F2 uses a solid mount rotor (rotor attached straight to the wheel) thats 280mm or something like that. The F3 uses a semi-floating rotor (rotor attaches to a carrier that attaches to the wheel) thats either 320mm or 300mm. Since the rotors are different sizes that caliper tabs on the fork bottoms are in different locations so you cant interchange wheels. You'd be stuck with F2 wheels and F2 forks.
Not to mention that the F2 has dampening rod forks (except for 1994) compared to the cartridge forks of the F3 which offer better and more adjustable.
just scower Ebay for a set of F3 forks. You've got some people out there that want $300 for the forks, that are out of their mind, and you've got the people who want a reasonable amount for their forks like $150 or $200.

F2 forks will fit but its going to be a downgrade from the F3 forks.

I have 05/06 CBR600rr front forks and front brakes on my 96 F3. It was like that when I bought it, and the guy either didn't know, or neglected to mention it when selling the bike to me. From what I can tell, the front forks, front brakes, and front fender are are from the 600rr.
