Default Same Bike

We have the same bike. It looks like some of the plastics are replaced maybe? I like the double bubble visor. I have the stupid original purple visor. It's such a fun ride.

If that's a little dirty, I'd hate to see it clean. I'd have to wear my welding helmet to cut the glare

I think the upper fairings were painted black before I got the bike. I know the inside of them is still purple but the paint looks like factory. Lucky I suppose. I just need to paint the tank and the front section black.

Wish I could pull my bike in the living room. alas the door is too narrow and my gf way too highstrung about cleanliness

Default Black paint

That would would be sick if you painted the tank black. Then you would basically have a younger brother to the 1100xx black bird. A friend of mine has one and he jokes around saying that I should paint mine black to match his.

96@cbr, I'm running a 120/70/ZR17 Pirelli Diablo Strada up front. I really like this tire so far, has about 3,000 miles on it. The rear tire is what came on the bike when I bought it. Its a 160/60/ZR17 Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier. Granted, my rear tire is in need of changing, but I do not like the tire at all. Shifting into 2nd gear well into the rev range causes the rear tire to spin for a good 2 seconds before it grips again. It also did this before the tire was worn as bad as it is now.

Murdocity, I can't find my camera to take some pics of the petcock right now. I do still have the lettering intact on the side fairing though. I used a razor blade to trim out the parts of the decals I wanted to remain on the bike before stripping them. Reserve is the upper position, off is horizontal, and on is down. Should look like this

Res
Off
On

I will take some pics for you asap once I find my camera lol. Here's a pic of the bike the day I picked it up......

Yikes, are you sure its the tire slipping and not something else, like the clutch?

Do you put any kind of tire shine on? Is this happening on a road with a lot of gravel?

I'm just curious but I can't imagine this happening even with the hardest, crappiest touring tire... I would expect your front to be lifting long before you had slippage in the rear..
