1995 F3 Electrical "POP"

Hey all,
wondering if any of you have experienced this before.
I recently charged the battery on my F3. After installing it, I hit the starter button and heard a small "pop" in the area right in front of the battery compartment. The entire electrical system went dead, meaning when I turn the key on (battery installed, 13.2V) there is no power at all. I checked the 30A fuse and all other fuses, which are fine.
Could a dead starter relay switch kill the entire electrical system?
Any ideas of what might have "popped" to cause the entire electrical system to go south? Any ideas would help greatly!

the 30 amp fuse is that the one on the starter relay its self, check all the connections on the relay by the battery are clean, if this fails i would look at the relay its self, just as a matter of intrest just check the voltage from the battery and the leads on the battery are clean and correct

thanks for the quick response wheelnut.
the 30A on the starter relay is the one I checked, plus the ones inside the upper right cowl. The leads from the battery are clean and connected correctly. Output from the battery is 13.2V.
The electrical system came on when I installed the battery after charging. It was when I hit the starter button that I heard the "pop" and the system went dead.
I looked through the manual but couldn't find a voltage/continuity test for the starter relay. Do I need to remove the relay to check it and how would you recommend I test it?
Thanks in advance!

as with all electrical issues start with the simplest
change the main fuse for another, if all comes back on but when you push the button it dies again, take off the starter relay and check it for corrosion and burnt bits, give it a good clean and check all the wires and earths are clean,
is the battery holding its charge just to elliminate a short circuit.
it does point to the starting system (relay) as all was well untill you thumbed the starter,
its a start, let me know how it goes.
you can bridge a relay off the bike, but use a fused wire on the positive feed to it,

The Positive lead from the battery goes directly to the Starter Relay. From there it travels through the 30A fuse and then on the the other fuse block as well as the R/R. It's easy to check to see if you have power to the R/R since it's behind the right side cover. Check for 12V on the Red/White wire. If you don't have 12V there all the time, the 30A fuse is bad.
PS
808... that's an interesting avatar. I've heard of another 808 before. Hmmm I wonder...
