Default Stock better????

Yes. Thats what mine has on it from the previous owner. Everything I read up on tells you to stay with stock sizes for best handling though. Time for a new tire and wondered if this is truelly the case????

170-60-17 is your best choice. It handles waaayyyy better and turns in way easier and its a lot easier to get good tires in this size as well.

I would avoid this size. I'm not going to tell you about the change in cornering or anything like that because you're going with a wider tire. I'm going to tell you that the 180/60 is much taller than the stock tire; about an inch. I run 180/55's on my f3. You get the wide grip and maintain near exact height; about 1/4" difference. This is of course if you have the 5.5" rim, a quick glance at the rim will tell you if you have the 5 or 5.5. Please don't put a 180 on a 5" rim, there are certain, less creditable shops that will put it on for you but don't. You're gonna squeeze the hell out of it and be coned like no one's business, this will truly f-up your ride experience.

In short:
5.5" rim, Definitely put the 180/55, I love mine.
5" rim, go with the 170/60, that's what I have on my f2

hope that helps

+1 I have a 160/60/17 but I'd like to use a 170/60/17.

Is the 170 really better? Doesn't it change the geometry of the bike causing cornering to be more difficult?
