Default Worth $1300?

I hate this question, but I couldn't find another place to post it. Sorry... I need help with a price. I came across a fully stripped F2. It has all the fairings, but they are not on it right now. The fairings are all there except the little inlays that go in the middle. The tank has some rash, but nothing major. It does have some updates like Jet, and exhaust and what not. It is safety wired and needs to be put back together for street use. Is it worth the $1300 he wants?

Sorry again but thanks,

That's a tough one to answer without at least seeing pics. I'd have a little concern about it being an older drag bike. Kelly blue book for a 1994 F2 is just under 3k, but that's in mint condition. What are you plans for the bike?

The bike was never raced. He had plans for it to be, but due to job issues he had to stop in midchange-over. He upgrades the shocks and the gas cap as well as the brake lines. Let me see if I can get some pics up.

It doesn't look bad to me... you can put some love and money into it and have a really nice bike.

Doesn't look too bad to me either. That tank looks like a Smokin' Joe's Edition though. How's the inside of the tank look? If it's rusty they are a pain to have re-done. Also, where's the top of the air box? How does it run? Does the oil look clean or smell like gas? Does it smoke at all? I would offer $1100 cash and see if he'll budge on the price (if everything seems to work ok).

He is pretty firm on the $1300 with all the fairings, but I can bring $1300 cash and offer less and see what he does. It looks like a good deal to me. He said it started the other day, which is a good sign. I will be looking at it on Monday, due to him leaving town. I just hope is it as good as we think. I thought the same thing about the gas tank.

not bad at all. if i had 1300 for it i would buy it. as far as the tank goes, its not a pain at all. $90 got mine acid dipped and epoxy coated, 3 days later i have a practically new tank (not on the rocket yet). if you got the money, you could really have something in that F2.
