Will this petcock work?
I noticed it on ebay for 20$ so I figured y not get it. But im reading alot up on it and everyone makes it sound like our cbr's are more specific on what we use. When I get it I will try it out and put updates as I go. But for now any info would help. I will save the stock one and buy a rebuild kit for 30$ bucks if it comes down to it

Petcock edit.
Srry I was using a smart phone to do my blogging. I just relized that you cant search that url. I found a petcock valve that is CBR aproved for instulation, but I have only been hearing about the 30$ rebuild kit. this petcock is similar in looks and mounting system and is only 20$ and I was wondering if any1 has ever used it before and has any input on the matter. I figured if it didnt work I could salvage the pressure gasket from it and repair my old one. if I get no feed back Ill let you all know how it goes. works/if not, can atleast repair old one. and save you all 10 bucks.

Can't tell from that pic if this valve is vacuum operated or not. F2 valves are vacuum operated from the line running from Cylinder #1, F3's were gravity fed with a low pressure fuel pump down the line. You need a pic from the back side of this ebay valve to see if there is a vacuum hookup. If not - it probably doesn't have the repair parts you're talking about swapping out.
I have heard that the f3 valve will work on an F2 but you have to remember to close the valve when sitting or it will want to continue gravity feeding the carb bowls.

Ok I got the petcock this morning. I havent had time to install it, but it looks like it doesnt have the vacuum pressure release valve on the bottom like the stock one. I have cracked it open tho and the internals look VERY similar to the stock Petcock Valve internals. I will be switching the gaskets and vacuum seal either tonight or tommorrow and I will be sure to take lots of pics of step by steps that way I could walk anyone through how to repair your old petcock valve with a repair kit. I know its simple but its nice to have an idea if its your first time.
