What do you guys think?
Hello everyone i am new to this forum as well as bikes,
So i was looking through the paper today and i see a 93 cbr 600f2 for sale and the passage said it needs some body work. I called the guy up and he lives just down the street about 5 minutes away, so i go and check the bike out.
When i get their the first thing i notice is that it is missing the left and right fairings, the reason for this is the guy said it had been layed down by the previous owner, however there is no frame damage. He started it up and the bike ran fine and all mechanical aspects of the bike seemed ok, he had the carbs cleaned within the last year and he put in a new battery and new clutch and brake levers.
It has about 28,000 miles on it and it has a clean and clear title.
My question is how much would you guys pay for this bike?
Cliffs-
-Went to see bike and it needs left, front, and right fairings replaced.
- Runs great with 28000 miles
- How much do you guys think its worth? Thanks to everyone in advance.

How bout the tires? if it has been sitting for a few yrs the rubber will be hard, not a problem but more than likely they are worn anyway. new set of tires is about $300 if you have a dealer do it and that is if you get a good deal. the plastic for the left side is prolly worth 200 and make sure the Cam chain tensioner is good. 50 bucks for a new one.
I paid $2100 for mine and it had 23000 miles on it all the plastic and overall a clean bike. but after tires and a cam chain tensioner, and some other issues i put another 600 in to it.
so overall i would pay $1800 max
hope this helps!

hes that does, the guy is selling it for 1700, and it has been sitting for a while so idk about the tires i will have to look into that.
Is it hard to replace a fairing yourself? and also what is a cam chain tensioner and how will i know if it is ok?

I'd offer him $1500. If the engine rattles like a marble in a mason jar the cam chain tensioner is most likely the problem. if not, don't worry about it. If so, then use that to talk him down a few hundred bucks, then spend 10 minutes and $50 to replace it yourself.
I would say about 1700. The cam chain is probably going to start rattling unless it was replaced recently. THe fairings are easy to replace. Ask the guy if he has the fairing screws because the are tough to come by if you dont go through Honda. If you go through Honda they are about $3 per one screw.
do you guys know how much fairings would be? I found his ad on craigs list, heres the link, the right side is the bad side though.

That bike wouldn't be worth even $1,200 in any season except spring. I'd offer him $1,500 and be prepared to walk if he doesn't agree. even on eBay the fairings can get costly especially with shipping and then you still need all the bolts and hardware. (my lord is that crap expensive)
Mine didn't have ANY of the fairing bolts. There's a guy on Ebay that sells stainless bolt kits for a lot of different bikes. I bought his kit for the F2 for about $100. It was almost 600 pieces (including the washers and nuts) and came in little plastic bags marked for the application. One said "upper fairing" one said "starter". The kit had hardware for oil pan, stator cover, starter, Oh hell, I can't remember it all. Anyway it was an awesome deal because to buy what I got at even just a hardware store would have been close to $600 and the stainless is very high titanium. It all fit too. I'll try to get a link to one of his auctions.
