What is the average running temp of the motor? What is considered dangerous?

 

Much of that depends where you live. If you're in the warmer parts, say Florida, versus where I am in Wa., my temp guage will seldom go up past half, with exception in the summer time in traffic...at that point the fan will kick on...but I'm guessing the engines normal operating temp is probably around 170*-ish.

youre not in any danger unless it gets into the red. on hot days in traffic im always around the 3/4 mark or so, but thats why we have a fan. otherwise, dont worry about it

 

I have a digital thermo... that's why I ask..

 

I have a Daytona digital temp guage.....when sitting still on a hot day (90+) I will see 210 degrees F. I thought this was a bit hot but my Honda factory manual states the t-stat does not fully open until 203 degrees F. My fan kicks on about that same temp. Hope that helps...
