Default went to fast, i broke the speedometer and the tach

The tach sits at where 17,000 would be if this bike revved that high. No, I didnt push it out that far, in fact i wasnt even speeding. I rode home and looked at my tach after i parked it. If I turn the bike on and rev it pretty good, it moves clock wise still and hits 0-1000 rpm.

How do I correct this?

Also, the speedo broke about a week ago, it just sits and bobs at 0-10 mph. I replaced the cable and it did not help. Is there also a gear in the speedmeter?

Thanks

there is a gear for the speedo and if the tach still moves i think all that you need to do is pop apart the gauges and reset the needle at zero start it up and make sure that works

We tapped on the glass really hard and the tach needle moved back down to 0 rpm, but it when it tries to go past 3000 rpm, the needle actually pops out a bit and wont go past that rpm. i will try pulling it apart tomorrow and see if I can fix it

You shouldn't have switched from Halffast to Fullfast, now you've gone and done it!

HAHAHHAAHAHA

These f2's are too damned reliable. I ride it 60 miles daily and it takes it all without a hiccup. I can't determine my speed or rpm, but everything else is mechanically sound for now. may need new rotors and pads in the future. thanks guys

Is this FML.com? This thread just made my week. You need to stay inside and take up basket weaving or something.

When I got my bike the tach needle was broke, idk how it happened. My fix was to superglue a toothpick to the little button thing. Might not be pretty but it works.

I will try that out, I just listen to the exhaust note and shift when necessary
