RE: Voltage Rectifier/Regulator
I believe mine might be shot...
My bike has recently been starting to act up, only after long rides with extended rest periods inbetween *over night* My bike starts up fine, just won't hold idle after its warm and dies. I checked the battery it seems to be fine... Also ive noticed that after long rides the battery its self is getting quite hot *And we all know where the better is located on our F2s >_> if you know what i mean.*
Is this an expensive fix?

RE: Voltage Rectifier/Regulator
Make sure your using the proper battery for your bike.I grabbed a battery out of a 250 ninja cause i just assumed since it was 12v it would work.It made my rectifier so hot that some brown crap melted out of it.I thought for sure it was toast.Somehow it is still good.

Keep in mind that a regualtor is beasically a big heat sink that turns the excess voltage of your stator into heat, so a warm regulator is ok. One glowing red or melting **** is not. Basically if you battery will not stay charged, or that is wont idle but will run at hi rpm, this is likely the culprit.

Check your battery is ok, Not just the charge, check the acid level too, if its low top up with DISTILED WATER ONLY!!!!!
if its bone dry BIN IT!!!!, I know on the batterys it say don't remove the cover but it's their way of getting you to buy a new one sooner.
You check the electrolite in your car battery why not your bike??
