Default vaccum issues?

so i was reading this link here https://cbrforum.com/forum/general-tech-9/cant-drain-tank-through-petcock-why-60175/
and it informed me that i have a vaccum petcock on my bike, heres where the problem lies, when the petcock is hooked up the bike doesnt really feel like running, as soon as i hook up a bottle and give it a little squeeze the bike fires up.

so should i...
a. buy a new petcock (do any of you have on for sale)
b. look at buying a cheapo non vaccum petcock
c. panic, and have my mechanic buddy look at the carbs or something to see why im not getting the vaccum i need.

Check that the vacuum line is hooked up to the #1 cylinder and to the petcock.

If that fails, disassemble the petcock and check the condition of the rubber diaphragm

If that fails, panic and have your mechanic buddy look at the bike

I suggest disconnecting the vacumm hose from the motor, and the fuel line, removing the tank. Then manually sucking on the vacuum hose from the petcock and see if fuel flows.

It should take only a slight amount of suction. If okay, inspect your carb insulator (rubber connectors intake to carbs) for cracks, causing it to suck air, instead of providing vacuum.

thanks, im assuming the only way to check vaccum is to suck on it or is there a better way then to risk sipping gas

Could try a syringe if you have one handy.

you wont have to worry about sucking in gas. Its only a vac line, the fuel will flow out of the big hose attached to your petcock.

That's a tube filter, check if it's floating around the bottom of your tank

i'd suggest using an inline filter and not worrying about that tube filter.
