Default RE: Undertail Kit

The undertail came in this week. The piece is pretty heavy duty and the finish was excellent. The majority of the original black plastic fender has to be removed for it to fit. The only area the the fit isnt as nice as I would like is at the area were the undertail and side panels meet need the passenger pegs, but with the use of a small automotive push type plastic molding button, the two pieces can be easily held together. The only spots that I have the undertail fastened to the bike are at the tool box area behind the battery and I bolted it to the factory trunk with a 1/2" spacer. With the design of the undertail, the two mounting locations are all that I needed to make the piece very stable even with the side panels off. I still need to take a few more pictures and when I get to work on Tuesday I will upload the photos.

How does it work with all the metal bars that so beautifully[:'(]fill the undertail on our F2's? I'm still contemplating cutting it out and swapping for F3 rear pegs. Either way, I can't wait to see some pics!!

we modified the rear tray on the f2 we are building and did some fab work on the rear pegs and i think it looks really good.. we also interegreated the blinkers into the stock taillight so that the *** end is all cleaned up. I can take some pictures if you all would like to see it. Probably wont take the pics till later this week though.

I just cut the stock fender almost completely out, and neatly, except for the small areas I needed for guiding the wiring, etc.

Just my opinion but...

The F2 tail section wraps under anyway, so you can't see underneath the rear like you can on the RR.

No I am a noob on here. We just picked up an F2 a few weeks ago for a friend of mine who lost his bike unfairly last year. I will have pictures of it soon.

Jeeper, I am going to post the pics tonight. I am currently on my way to Dallas. If you were talking about the tubular passenger pegs, the undertail will need to be modified for the bar that bolt up at the back. If you have 94 F2 or F3 passenger pegs nothing will need to be modified.

Yeah, my bike still has all of the factory bars and crap under it. So, I'd have to cut all that out? I was planning to do it eventually anyway and swap to the solid F3 passenger pegs. But, if you've gotta do it to also do the undertail, looks like I'll be doing it sooner than thought.

Can't wait to see the pics installed.

Jeeper, the only thing that you would have to do to use the stock pegs would be to either trim some of the undertail to allow space for the bar that goes to the back, or if you are good with a hacksaw and grinder, you could cut the bar off and you would have to modify the undertail at all. Here are a couple of pics of the trunk plastic after it has been trimmed. I dont have the pics of the bike with the undertail installed with me. I will be posting them Saturday when I get back home.
