two piece seat?
You can do all that, or you can eliminate the rear seat all together with a race tail from Opp Racing or Sharkskinz.
That's what I did.
Opp...cost $500, but mine is all carbon fiber....but you can get a fiberglass tail for about $250, andit will look better than a bent sub-frame hack job.
Even that nice yellow CBR that is all over the internet has tape and crap holding things together. Up close...looks like ****.
This is my single seater.

Also, I cut away all of the original undertail plastics, ditched the little tool box, and basically just left enough of the
original rear plastic fender to hold the lic. plate and an LED brake/running/and turn signal combo light.
The inspection sticker is in my wallet.
Left only what was required to be street legal, and as soon as I get my car in Sept. the mirrors, turn signals, plate, and lights are all coming off.
Then a paint job and jet kit will be the final mods. not a bad little track bike.

Do a search the answer find it you will..... you don't have to cut and weld a new subframe onto your bike you can put a f4i split seat on your f2 with some home made brackets made from flat steel strips there is a guy on this forum who have a photobucket that shows his brackets he made looks harder then what it is....
There is a post on that in the how to forum here. Basicly if I remember correctly you fashion a bracket or weld the bottom part, cause the upper bolt will actually line up. I might be mistaken but there is a "how to" on this side about it,.
I have been mod'n my 91 F2 with an 01-03 F4i tail, I should have a bunch of pic's and procedures with in the next few days. I'm about 90% done then it's off to paint. Will post in 'How-To' area when done.
