Default Transmission fluid???

I went out today and what i believe was a puddle of trans fluid was under the bike. I have had the bike for like a month and it never leaked a drop. I am guessing its trans fluid since its pinkish red. I have not hit anything or laid the bike down. Why all of a sudden is it leaking. Thanks J

Our bikes don't use a seperate sump for trans fluid, and if they did it wouldn't be automatic transmission fluid it would be mineral oil.

Everything in our engine is lubricated with engine oil.

Maybe somebody got stabbed and laid next to your bike for a while.

Motorcycle engine oil has extra "stuff" in it to help resist oil breakdown due to the added shear forces put upon it by the transmission gears. That's why it is so important to buy "motorcycle specific" oil and not just a jug of 10W-40 off of the Wal Mart shelf.

eight :=)

I have seen red/pinkish coolant though. Have you inspected the actual bike (not just the ground below) and checked for leaks?

briefly. i didnt take the fairings off. the bike is in a garage so sorry no dead bodies. is there a kind of radiator stop leak for bikes. I ask because i was told that a regular stop leak could clog up the coolant passages in the engine??? i havent done and oil change or coolant flush yet.

Do not use any of that magic "stop leak" crap... It gums everything up.

Find the leak and post a picture here, we'll let you know how to repair it
