Exclamation Throttle cables to carb help

Im putting my carbs back on and im having problems with gettting the throttle cables back into place. I can get the top cable on just fine but the bottom cable is giving me ****. i have like 1-1.5 inches of cable left over. I have twisted the throttle to see if maybe itll come back in and it doesnt. The throttle is in the off position so everything should be able to just slip back in. Any ideas?

Also what is that cable for? is it to snap the throttle back?

Thank you

Ya, you need both cables so it opens and then snaps back. I'm not sure about how to fix it though, maybe somebody else can chime in

Same issue here, It is much easier to put the throttle cables back on to the carb before you cannect them to the handle, To put the top cable on, it is easier to have the throttle closed, to put the bottom cable on, open the throttle. It will be much easier that way, also, if you want it to be even easier take the carbs off and put the cables in.

Ya i have the carbs off and am trying to put them back on. Im hoping the bottom cable just slipped out of the throttle handle and thats why i have so much slack.

Ill get to it in the morning and let you know how it comes out.

I left my the cables attached to the grip

So what I did was the bottom cable attached then manually rotated the throttle plate and slipped the top cable on. Then attached the carbs

Last time i cleaned the carbs i left the cables on the on the throttle tube. I only had to unhook them from the carbs and they slipped back on no problem. But i think from me yankin on it it may have slipped off the tube. Atleast i hope. I want to get it up by noon so i can go ride while its nice out.

Ive got some seafoam sitting in the valve area right now since the carbs are off so hopefully alot of the carbon build up will be dimished and i can get a lil turkey baster and suck it all up.
